Some of the most gullible people are the most trusting. Likewise those who do not trust are the ones who have been let down too many times to continue believing. Neither approach to life is wrong, however when these 2 types of people connect an endless circle of tricky develops. I am one of those people who used to be very gullible. In highschool, I was convinced that a friend had a kid.. (Teenage parenting wasn’t that common then so don’t hate) In my defense, this guy was very thorough with the practical joke. He brought a baby to one of my band concerts and introduced us. However, turns out this guy is gay and I’m stupid. High school was rough for me, another time I was convinced that a circus was coming to town. The circus never came and I was left sad for many years. I didn’t get the cynical chip on my shoulder until I entered college. College maybe the best 4-5 years of your life but for me they were the darkest. From the past 4 years, I’ve learned to never expect anything and to trust no one... well that's a lie I trust about 5 people, but that's it. | Like every good chocolate chip cookie, to make it through the day some people need a little chip. |
