Growing up in the 90s one gets to experience many firsts. Like your first monstrous gateway computer, first time your parents got a cell phone, the first time you were able to text - limited of course, the first time you had dial up internet... let’s talk about that for a little bit. Dial up internet was this amazing thing that used your landline or home phone if you will, for internet. Actually, it was shitty. You were constantly knocked off because someone decided they needed to call, thanks a lot grandma. The best part of a landline was this trick one I would always do and I’m sad because I can longer play this trick on anyone. Here’s how it worked, if you dialed your home phone number on the landline or home phone if you will, then hang up. THE PHONE STILL RANG! I mastered this trick. You can ask any of my little brothers and sisters, I was a pro. If you stumbled upon my blog today you should know that I’m the 3rd out of 7 kids. If you don’t know what life in a big family means, let me fill you in. If you don’t rush to eat, you would starve. If you didn’t take a shower first, it would be cold. No one actually knows your name, “Lewie” is the identity for all 7 of us. Finally and most importantly, you had tons of chores. Still remember the prank? I took it a step further. My mom would leave to go grocery shopping and give me a list of chores to do like vacuum the living room, wash the kitchen floor, and do the dishes.
However, this intelligent yet lazy teenager never did those chores. Nope, after my left, I called our home phone and answer it, pretending to have a conversation with my mom saying, “Hi Mom... Oh you want Zachary to vacuum... and Whitney to wash the kitchen floor... Mom I can help, but okay I’ll tell Preston to do the dishes. The best part is that my family didn’t catch on! I was 16 years old and still playing this trick. I know its sad to be proud, but I do believe this is one of my proudest pranking moments and I love a good prank.
Pranking is only okay when the blood is ketchup because real blood is gross.
